Hi! I’m Charity.
Although losing a leg has been a big adjustment for me, I almost didn’t survive at all. My owner turned me in to a kill shelter and I would have been euthanized if it weren’t for Taking Care of God’s Creature’s Animal League (TCGC). The volunteers with TCGC (which is located in Kingsport, TN) are so loving and caring. They’re not sure why my owner didn’t keep me, but they saved me and took me to a nice home. They call it foster care. I’m so thankful for them!
TCGC volunteers noticed a huge sore on my foot. It was painful and wasn’t healing right. The volunteers started raising money to make sure they could get me the best possible care. They took me to the University of Tennessee Veterinary Medical Center. I had a biopsy and the doctors said I had a rare cancer. They said I would have to have my leg amputated. I was not happy, but it saved my life.
I now need chemo to make sure that mean cancer does not come back. With that and the surgery, the medical bills have sure piled up. TCGC is trying to raise money to pay for it all. They are funded entirely by donations and could really use your help to make sure I get all better so I can be adopted. That means going to live with a family that loves you and rubs your tummy and takes you for walks!
TCGC always takes donations. And, this month, a really cool company called Fetching Apparel is raising money to help me. They are donating 40% of profits to TCGC and another charity during October. I am so thrilled to hear all you need to do is go to their website. Go get it!
You must check out all the fun fashions items for your humans and you, my fellow rescue dogs and cats. I’m pretty sure that any day now I’ll get my forever home. Thank you!!
