Thank you for your interest in Fetching Apparel.
We’re glad you found us and we’re anxious to share our story with you.
We’re a family of six (two of us have four legs!); we love animals, the great outdoors and we have a passion for helping those who can’t help themselves.
During my time as a television anchor here in Bristol, VA/TN, we have done countless stories about homeless animals. It was alarming to learn the euthanasia rate for this region. In 2012 alone, an overwhelming 6,500 dogs and more than 5,400 cats were put down; that’s 47% and 68% of those that ended up in shelters.
In 2007, my husband and I decided to do our part to help reduce the homeless pet population by adopting a shelter dog. During our search, we quickly fell in love with Jeffrey. He’d been rescued from the shelter by a retired nurse and her husband (she has since created the non-profit organization Happy Tails Animal Rescue of Washington County, VA) just days before he was scheduled to be euthanized. We are so grateful they intervened.
Jeffrey, by our best estimate, is part Border Collie/part Beagle. He’s SUPER smart, extremely agile and he’s big on being with his pack. He’s also the inspiration behind Fetching Apparel, and his handsome image is our logo.
Shortly before the launch of this website, our pack grew; we adopted a second shelter dog named Dasher.
Now we’re on a mission to help other homeless pets find their forever homes and we’re wearing it on our sleeves; 20% of profits from our small, family business go to animal rescue organizations and spay/neuter programs!
Thank you for supporting Fetching Apparel!!
